What is the primary function of relatively unfettered speech?
What assumption are we making about the durability of one another when we support something called “free speech”?
Should the boundaries of permitted speech be governed by the feelings of those most sensitive to the impact of words? And if “yes”, how many sensitive people should be required to claim emotional damage for us to sacrifice the pursuit of improved understanding of alternative perspectives by restricting what words can be used in public spaces?
